On March 16, 2019, Nyasha Laing joined Paul Pryce, Director of “The Deliverer” in a talk about “Getting It Made: How Caribbean Filmmakers Are Producing Independently” at the Caribbean Film Series at Brooklyn Academy of Music. The Deliverer, slated for completion in 2020, is the riveting story of a Trinidadian fisherman who leads villagers in a failed protest of a corrupt construction of a petrochemical plant that will displace villagers off their land.
